To mark the recent successful openings of Transformers The Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood, Cars Land at Disney California Adventure and Despicable me & 100 Years of Movie Memories lagoon show at Universal Studios Florida- here are our top ten theme park attractions - inspired by movies, books, television shows and comics.

10.  Waterworld at Universal Studios Hollywood, Japan and Singapore.  Forget any negative thoughts you may have about the movie, this is one of the most spectacular theme park shows you will ever see.

9.  Crush's Coaster at Walt Disney Studios Paris.  Basically a simple roller coaster enclosed in a building, this has all the charm of the Finding Nemo movie, and is surprisingly thrilling. 

8.  The Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood and Florida.  In 2007 a Simpsons overlay was applied to Universal's Back to the Future simulator ride.  The result is a lot of fun, with plenty of cool parodies of Disney rides.

7.  King Kong 360 - 3D at Universal Studios Hollywood.  This is part of the studio tram tour.  Your tram rolls into a building and gets rocked about by Kong and a dinosaur.  Its a pretty awesome experience!

6.  Jurassic Park The Ride/River Adventure at Universal's Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Hollywood and Japan.  There is also a different version at Universal Studios Singapore.  A classic log flume ride, with a mighty drop and dinosaurs.  You will get wet.

5.  E.T. Adventure at Universal Studios Florida. Take to your bike and enjoy the most charming ride ever.  

4.  The Incredible Hulk Coaster at Universal's Islands of Adventure.  This coaster is awesome!

 3.  Journey to the Center of the Earth at Tokyo DisneySea.  This high speed ride blasts you to the center of the earth.  Incredible theming and attention to detail makes this the best Disney Ride, anywhere.

2.  The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man at Universal Islands of Adventure, Orlando.  Recently given an HD makeover, this ride takes you on an exciting journey using animated 3D, and physical sets.  Its been around for over a decade, and its still one of the most awesome rides in the world.

 1.  Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Universal's Islands of Adventure (coming soon to Universal Studios Hollywood and Japan). Similar sort of ride to The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, but a stunning Hogwarts setting, incredible physical sets and the opportunity to fly with Harry, make this even better.
