With The Dark Knight Rises opening in theaters very soon, here is a look at all the dudes that have worn the bat suit on the big screen .
Adam West (& Burt Ward as Robin) in the 1966 movie spin off of the comedy tv series.
Michael Keaton (with Jack Nicholson as The Joker) in Tim Burton's classic Batman (1989)
Burton and Keaton came back with Michelle Pfeiffer (Catwoman) and Danny Devito (Penguin) in Batman Returns(1992). A movie that showed that you can have too many villains.
Joel Schumacher directed Val Kilmer as Batman, with Chris O'Donnell as Robin, in Batman Forever. The movie that replaced darkness with campness, and marked the beginning of the end of the franchise.
Even George Clooney (with O'Donnell and Alecia Silverstone) couldn't save the crime against cinema that is Batman & Robin (1997). Killed the franchise stone dead.
Eight years later, with Christopher Nolan in the directors chair, the bat franchise is reborn. Christian Bale is in the Bat suit, in the awesome Batman Begins (2005).
Nolan and Bale both returned in The Dark Knight (2008) with the tragic Heath Ledger as Joker.
