The British film director Tony Scott is understood to have taken his own life, in Los Angeles. He was probably best known for directing the Eighties popcorn classic Top Gun, but perhaps his most exceptional work was bringing the early Tarantino script "True Romance" to the big screen. A brilliant talent, sadly gone.
