The Dark Knight Rises has gone past the half billion dollar mark at the global box office, in just a couple of weeks. It now ranks as the second most popular movie to feature the bat since 1989. It should also soon pass the take of The Amazing Spider-man - which itself looks unlikely reach the hauls of the previous trilogy.
