NFL Monday Night Football on the BBC

The new NFL season kicked off last weekend, and in the UK that meant a significant change in the television coverage the league receives.  Sky Sports continues to show two games each Sunday (6pm & 9-15pm), the redzone and games on Thursdays and Saturdays when played.  Channel Four also continues to show the late Sunday night game. 

The big change is happening to Monday Night Football, because it has left ESPN, and moved to the BBC.  This means there will now be two games on free-to-air television each week.  Sadly the game will be shown on the red button, making it difficult for many viewers to record it.  But it will be on the BBC iPlayer for seven days.  On radio, BBC 5 live sports extra will be doing a Sunday prime time game each week, double headers later in the season and more games will be produced on-site in the USA.  The BBC and Sky Sports will both show the Superbowl.
